My European creative futures programme started today at sunrise, on a plane to Utrecht. Our project theme is "sustainability" and "social impact". It made me rethink the few ideas I had. I never thought of a business idea that focused on sustainability. With my college course, I always focused on digital projects. This opened my mind and made me more aware of the environment, plastic and pollution. I received a steel bottle which made me realize how much plastic packaging we throw away. The goal for this week is to come up with a product idea that can help someone or the environment. We were informed that there are 8 categories of cultural differences:

- Decision making
- Disagreeing
- Communication
- Trusting
- Scheduling
- Evaluating
- Persuading
- Leading
I was surprised that each nationality has different approaches to each of these aspects of working in a team. However, one student pointed it out that we are all different from the people with the same nationality to us. I agree with her. We worked in pairs and compared two to see our differences. It reminded me to be open minded and aware that other people work differently. An important note was made, and that was to allow everyone a chance to talk. There can be extroverted and introverted people in the group. Everyone must be given an opportunity to present their opinion and ideas.
